The Child Care Center Cook plays a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of children by preparing nutritious and delicious meals in a safe and hygienic kitchen environment. This position requires a passion for cooking, knowledge of food safety practices, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. The Cook will be responsible for meal preparation that meets dietary guidelines and caters to the diverse needs of children in our care.

Duties

-Prepare and cook healthy meals and snacks for children, adhering to nutritional guidelines.
-Plan menus that accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences.
-Ensure all food handling and preparation practices comply with food safety regulations.
-Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including proper storage of food items.
-Assist in inventory management by tracking supplies and placing orders as needed.
-Collaborate with staff to create engaging meal experiences for children.
-Educate children about healthy eating habits during meal times.
-Participate in training sessions related to food safety and kitchen operations.

Qualifications

-Proven experience as a cook in a kitchen setting, preferably within the food service or restaurant industry.
-Knowledge of food handling, preparation, and safety standards.
-Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
-Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
-Excellent communication skills to interact positively with staff and children.
-A passion for cooking and an understanding of nutrition as it pertains to child development.
