Job Description

The successful applicant must know their way around a kitchen and at times will work with minimal supervision to our exact standard operating procedures.
The successful applicant will be working both in our commercial kitchen and at off-site events. The hours can be somewhat flexible in the kitchen: some Mondays, mostly Wednesday thru Friday. Available to work the occasional Friday and Saturday during the day when we have booked multiple events as well as the occasional Friday and Saturday evenings for off-site events. (Plenty of notice will be given for scheduling off-site events).
The successful applicant must:
• know the difference between a wet and dry measure and tell the difference between knives.
• be able to stand for long periods of time (longer than 15 mins). Long spans of standing during prep-work and/or cooking is expected.
• be able to occasionally work in hot kitchen conditions or in a field, garage or maybe even a tent.
• be a quick learner and have a good memory.
• enjoy a wide variety of foods and/or be willing to taste a variety of dishes.
• know how to appropriately handle both raw and cooked meat, poultry and fish.
• be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• have a current safe food handling certificate, or willing to obtain
• have a current driver’s license and vehicle or have access to transportation to and from events.

We operate a Renfrew County Health Unit approved commercial kitchen and have served the Arnprior, Renfrew, Ottawa Valley, Almonte, Carleton Place, Kanata, West Carleton and West Ottawa areas since 2013. We take pride in creating great tasting food without additives or preservatives. We believe in using only the freshest of ingredients and make everything from scratch.
