Customer Support / Administrative Assistant
Full-Time
Primarily Remote | Based in Arnprior, Ontario

As our Customer Support / Administrative Assistant, you'll be the first point of contact for online customer inquiries, a key support to our leadership team, and a vital part of keeping our business running smoothly behind the scenes. Key Responsibilities

Customer Support & Communication

Manage our primary customer support inbox with professionalism, organization, and efficiency. Respond to customer inquiries via email, live chat, and phone with clear communication, a helpful attitude, and a warm, friendly tone.
Triage questions and route customers to the correct person or department
Follow up on open tickets and ensure timely, satisfying resolutions
Maintain a friendly, expert tone that reflects OVAP's brand
Help build and maintain FAQ and support documents

Administrative Assistance

Support the President with scheduling, task tracking, and follow-ups
Assist with preparing reports, formatting documents, and sending internal updates
Schedule team meetings and take notes when required
Keep digital communications organized, and make sure nothing slips through the cracks

Customer Experience Operations

Log customer inquiries and feedback in our systems
Track common issues and help suggest improvements
Support seasonal campaigns and event communications (like PaddleFest!)
Assist with logistics for demos, rentals, or events when needed

Team Collaboration & Culture

Coordinate with our Sales, Rentals, and Marketing teams to align messages / communication
Keep clear internal notes to ensure smooth handoffs
Help build a team culture that’s organized, inclusive, and customer-first

Who We’re Looking For

2+ years experience in customer service, admin support, or a similar role
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Detail-oriented and naturally organized
Comfortable working with CRM tools, email systems, and shared docs (Google Suite)
Positive attitude, team-first mindset, and self-starter energy
Experience in outdoor retail, tourism, or event planning is a bonus
Bilingual (English/French) is a plus, but not required
Experience working with the Shopify platform is considered an asset
You’re someone who enjoys helping others, keeping things tidy behind the scenes, and bringing a sense of calm and order to a busy day. You’re proactive, friendly, and excited to work for a company that values community, conservation, and outdoor adventure.

Job Details

Position: Customer Support / Administrative Assistant
Location: Primarily remote – hybrid role based in Arnprior, ON (some on-site support required)
Schedule: Full-time (some weekend work during peak season)
Start Date: ASAP (or mutually agreed upon)
Reports To: President of Ottawa Valley Air Paddle
