Job Description

Responsible for the preparation of meals and service for all resident meals following MOHLTC guidelines, Food Premises Act and Employer policies and procedures.
- Estimates quantity of foods needed to meet the menu requirements and prepares food orders as required.
- Prepares menu items in accordance with IDDSI guidelines, standardized recipes, therapeutic diet guidelines.
- Ensures a choice is provided for every diet and modified texture for all residents as per MOHLTC regulations.
- Communicate any required menu substitutions to the manager and document any changes on the production sheets.
- Ensures compliance with Food Premise guidelines, Sanitation and Safety Code, and Public Health recommendations.
- Operates kitchen equipment as per manufacturers recommendations.
- Report safety concerns to the manager.
- Verify food orders by referencing invoice and reject damaged and/or expired food and beverage.
- Ensures proper storage of perishable and nonperishable foods, rotating stock.
- Clean kitchen equipment, utensils and surfaces as required.
- Assist with catering services and special events as required.
- Participate in ongoing in-service education.
- Participate in quality control audits, inspections and action plans.
- Follow protocols for recalls and damaged product.
- Other duties may be assigned on as need basis by the manager.
