About the role

MetaLigna manufactures light gauge steel building systems (panelized walls, floor systems, and related components). We’re hiring a hands-on shipping lead to run day-to-day shipping/receiving, coordinate outbound loads, and keep inventory and documentation clean and accurate.

This role is a working lead: you’ll be on the floor, operating equipment as needed, while coordinating priorities with Production, QC, and Project/ Operations.

What you’ll do
• Own shipping execution: picking/ staging, load planning, packing, labeling, and final load checks
• Coordinate carrier bookings and shipment timing with internal teams
• Run receiving: unload, verify POs/ packing slips, report issues, and stage materials correctly
• Maintain shipping documentation (BOLs, packing lists, release forms, photo records where required)
• Keep inventory movements accurate (basic digital logging)
• Ensure loads are safe, secure, and compliant (tie-downs, weight distribution, damage prevention)
• Support/coordinate QC hold/ release and nonconformance handling on outbound items
• Maintain shipping area organization (5S mindset), rack locations, and staging discipline
• Lead and coach shipping/ forklift support as needed (priorities, standards, safety)
• Identify recurring problems and propose practical fixes (damage reduction, fewer missed items, better staging)

What we’re looking for
• 3+ years in shipping/ receiving in a manufacturing environment (construction materials an asset)
• Comfortable with forklift operation and load securing best practices
• Strong attention to detail for counts, paperwork, and “nothing missing” shipments
• Able to coordinate across production/ QC with a calm, practical style
• Basic digital skills (forms, logs, tablets, scanning, etc.)
• Physically able to work in a manufacturing environment

Nice to have:
• Supervisory/ lead experience
• Familiarity with shop drawings/ BOMs and staged assemblies
• Experience with process improvement / 5S

Schedule: Typically Monday – Friday; 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Occasional extended hours may be required around major shipments.
