Community and Support Services

We are growing our team and enhancing the care at Marianhill in response to the new Fixing Long-Term Care Act. Therefore, we are increasing the number of staff and to assist with this growth in our organization! We are recruiting for 5 Part-Time Personal Support Workers.

Marianhill is a faith based, not-for-profit organization that provides long-term care, complex continuing care, community support services, palliative and hospice care services. Marianhill is accredited with Exemplary Standing.

Personal Support Worker
Under the direction of the Director of Care and Unit Manager, the Personal Support Worker assists with the provision of Resident care. The duties are performed in accordance with Marianhill’s mission statement, established policies and procedures, current legislation and in a manner that respects the uniqueness, dignity, worth, self-respect, self-determination, and autonomy of our Residents to promote maximum independence.

Qualifications
• Personal Support Worker Certificate required (minimum of 600 hours in duration, counting both class time and practical experience time)
• Ability to work with computerized records required.
• Food Handlers training is an asset.
• Experience working in Long Term Care facility setting is an asset.
• Experience working in Geriatric Mental Health and dementia is an asset.
• Basic Life Support (BCLS) is an asset.
• Oral and written proficiency in English is required.
• Oral and written proficiency in French is considered an asset.
• Excellent attendance is essential.

Wage: $23.08-$23.80 per hour per local Collective Agreement plus a $3.00 wage enhancement (total $26.08-$26.80) The base wage is currently under negotiations.

Please note proof as per Marianhill policy of required vaccinations, including but not limited to influenza, etc., is required as well as proof of a 2-Step Mantoux TB Skin Test dated within the last year with a current updated 1-Step. You will be required to provide an original, clear vulnerable sector criminal record check dated within the last 6 months and be able to sign a declaration at time of hire. Education certificate, diploma or otherwise must be provided to the Employer and you must participate in the N95 Mask Fit Testing Program as applicable.
