The Township of Mc/Nab Braeside is seeking a temporary full-time Equipment Operator/Truck Driver for a 12-month contract. Reporting to the Public Works Supervisor, the Equipment Operator/Truck Driver provides a variety of construction, snow/ice removal, maintenance and repair services to roads and adjacent public property for the safety and convenience of the public.
Qualifications/Skills:
-Possess and maintain a “DZ” Ontario Driver’s licence
-Successfully completed O.S.S.D (Grade 12). Post-secondary education in Good Roads related courses considered an asset.
-Previous experience in the operation of roads department trucks, backhoe, loader and other miscellaneous equipment.
-Operation of tandem snowplow is considered an asset.
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently.
-Demonstrated excellent safety record, ability to meet physical demands of the position.
-Ability to be on call 24 hours per day combined with flexibility in hours of work.
The position is based on a 40 hour work-week. The Equipment Operator/Truck Driver position is Group 6 of the current compensation grid.
