Job Description

Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Accounting Support
• Perform day-to-day bookkeeping, including data entry, reconciliations, and expense tracking
• Prepare and file HST returns
• Maintain accurate, complete, and well-organized financial records
• Assist with month-end and year-end bookkeeping tasks
• Identify discrepancies or missing information and follow up as required
CRA & Compliance
• Navigate and manage CRA business and personal accounts
• Assist with CRA correspondence, notices, and requests
• Support HST, payroll, and other CRA-related filings as needed
• Ensure compliance with CRA requirements and filing deadlines
T1 Tax Client Support (Asset)
• Collect, review, and organize required information and documentation from T1 personal tax clients
• Assist clients to access their online CRA accounts/Authorize a Representative
• Identify missing or incomplete information and follow up with clients in a professional manner
• Ensure all income slips, deductions, and tax credit documentation are received prior to filing
• Maintain organized, accurate, and audit-ready T1 client files within TaxDome
• Support the tax preparation process to ensure timely and accurate filings during tax season
Administrative & Client Support
• Manage client information, workflows, and document tracking using TaxDome
• Upload, organize, and monitor client documents through the client portal
• Onboarding new clients
• Communicate with clients professionally and clearly via email and secure portals
• Provide general administrative support as required
Required Qualifications
• Minimum 3 years of full time Canadian bookkeeping experience
• Minimum 3 years of Administration experience
• Strong understanding of CRA accounts and online portals
• Experience preparing and filing HST returns
• Familiarity with CRM software
• Good working knowledge of spreadsheet functions
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new systems and processes
• Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
• High level of professionalism and discretion, with a strong commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and data security
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working in a tax or accounting firm
• Experience with T1 personal tax preparation or tax season support
• Knowledge of payroll and source deductions
• Experience with TaxDome
• Prior experience supporting CPAs or tax professionals
