I am looking for a reliable, patient, and active support worker to join our lives and assist my 16-year-old daughter. She is a wonderful teenager with special needs who is physically strong and energetic. I am looking for someone who doesn’t just see this as a "job," but who truly enjoys building a connection and becoming a trusted friend to a child with disabilities.
The Schedule
• Mondays: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM (or 8:00 PM)
• Evenings: 2 days per week (focused on swimming and skill-building)
• Saturdays: 4 to 8 hours
• School Breaks: 6–8 hours per day during PA days, snow days, and holidays.
• Additional weekend hours may be available for the right candidate.
Pay & Benefits
• Rate: $26.00/hour + $3.00 TWE supplement
• Total: $29.00/hour
• Training: 1–2 days of paid shadow training will be provided to ensure you feel confident.
Key Responsibilities
• Personal Care: Assistance with bathing, hygiene, and daily living routines.
• Engagement: Providing constant supervision with a focus on positive, calm interaction.
• Activity Support: Assisting with evening routines and joining her for swimming (must be a confident swimmer).
• Physical Assistance: Providing light physical support and keeping up with her active pace.
Requirements
• Temperament: You must be naturally patient, calm under pressure, and genuinely enthusiastic.
• Physical Fitness: High stamina is required to keep up with a strong, active teenager.
• Reliability: A serious commitment to the role; we are looking for long-term stability.
• Logistics: Valid driver’s license and your own reliable vehicle.
• Clearance: A recent Police Background Check (Vulnerable Sector) is required.
• Experience with autism or sensory processing needs is a significant asset.
How to Apply
This is a long-term position. As my daughter grows more comfortable and a bond is formed, there will be opportunities for increased hours.
If you feel you are the right fit, please send a message sharing a bit about yourself, your relevant experience, and your current availability. Only suitable candidates will be contacted for an interview.
Thank you for your interest in supporting our family!
