POSITION SUMMARY
The Developmental Services Supervisor is responsible for the oversight and supervision of frontline positions in assigned programs such as Adult Residential Services, Urgent Response Services, Adult Protective Services, Service Coordination (children and adult), Coordinated Service Planning, FASD, Behaviour (children and adult), Infant and Child Development, and other programs and duties as assigned. This position is responsible for ensuring excellence in clinical service delivery for assigned programs, adherence to legislation, quality standards, policies and procedures, and working within assigned funding allocations.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide day-to-day oversight of the work performed in assigned programs, including case assignments, case closure, serious occurrence reporting, and wait list management.
Perform supervisory functions such as participating in the recruitment process, providing orientation, coaching, and mentoring, coordinating staff training and development requirements, performance management, facilitating the transfer of learning for staff, handling employee relations issues, and ensuring compliance with ministry requirements and timelines.
Communicate clear and measurable program objectives, clinical goals, and performance expectations to staff.
Build and promote a safe, healthy, and respectful workplace in accordance with FCSRC’s mission, vision, and values, policies and procedures, Ministry standards and regulations, all legislative requirements, and the Collective Agreement.
Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety legislation, agency health and safety policies, and safe work practices, including incident reporting, hazard identification, and corrective action follow-up.
Ensure compliance with privacy legislation, confidentiality requirements, and secure information management practices, including electronic case records and reporting systems.
Support staff and service delivery through organizational, system, and program changes, including the implementation of new policies, procedures, or ministry directives.
Retain, motivate, evaluate, counsel, discipline, and recommend for promotion or dismissal personnel in all department areas in consultation with the Director of Human Resources.
Be responsible for workload management and ensuring appropriate service volume with assigned staff.
Represent the Agency on internal and external committees as required.
Attend team meetings, management meetings, and all-staff meetings as required, ensuring positive relationships with community partners.
Organize and lead team meetings for assigned staff.
Participate in consultation and supervision routines with the Manager of Developmental Services and Community-based Programs.
Make operational decisions within assigned authority and escalate issues appropriately in accordance with agency policies and governance structures.
Support the integration of equity and mitigate the impact of system oppression to ensure equitable program and service delivery practices.
Oversee the allocation of community funding or individual funding allocations in accordance with MCCSS service objectives.
Maintain awareness of Ministry program data elements, both service and financial.
Keep the Manager of Developmental Services and Community-based Programs appropriately informed and make recommendations where gaps or barriers to effective service delivery are identified.
Actively participate as a member of the management team.
Practice effective conflict resolution with both internal and external stakeholders.
Assist with special projects as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
Service delivery objectives and program data elements are followed, and compliance is consistently achieved.
Regular supervision sessions with assigned staff are completed and documented.
Supervisory decisions are consistent with organizational policies and procedures and in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
Supervision notes document performance concerns and related conversations with staff.
Written annual performance appraisals for all assigned staff are completed as required.
Timecards are accurate and approved within expected timelines.
Case documentation and service delivery are completed in accordance with ministry standards and regulations.
Service delivery aligns with organizational values and the organization’s strategic plan.
Signs of Service principles are demonstrated in leadership and service delivery.
Culturally competent service delivery is demonstrated.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in a recognized program such as social sciences or human services is preferred, or a College Diploma in a recognized social sciences or human services field with equivalent work experience.
Five years of experience working in Developmental Services or a related Social Services field is required. Clinical work experience is an asset.
Previous experience supervising staff is an asset.
Bilingualism is considered an asset.
Familiarity with related legislation, service standards, and reporting requirements is considered an asset.
Demonstrated knowledge and or experience in individual or program budgeting and reporting requirements is considered an asset.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal office working conditions apply
Ability to travel and work out of different offices within Renfrew County. Some overnight travel may be required.
Work is occasionally of an emergency nature and may be disruptive to normal scheduling. Work beyond normal working hours may sometimes be required.
Hourly rate:
$39.54 -$56.84.
