Job Description

About the Role:
We are seeking a reliable, patient, and active support worker to join our family and assist my 16-year-old daughter. She is a wonderful, energetic teenager with special needs who is physically strong and full of life. We are looking for someone who doesn’t just see this as a "job," but who truly enjoys building a genuine connection and becoming a trusted friend to a youth with disabilities.

The Schedule:
Mondays: 2:30 PM – 7:30 PM (or 8:30 PM)
Tuesdays: 2:30 PM – 7:30 PM (or 9:30 PM)
Weekends: 4 to 8 hours on Saturdays and Sundays: 2PM-8PM
And :
*One week of July 17th-26th: 2PM-8PM
*One week of August: 16th-22nd: 2PM-8PM

School Breaks: 6–8 hours per day during PA days, snow days, and holidays.(Next September)
Note: Additional weekend hours may be available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:
- Engagement & Supervision: Providing constant supervision with a focus on positive, calm, and patient interaction.
- Activity Support: Assisting with daily routines and joining her for swimming (must be a confident swimmer).
- Personal Care: Assisting with bathing, personal hygiene, and daily living routines.
- Meal Preparation: Ability to cook basic, simple breakfasts and light meals.
- Physical Assistance: Keeping up with her active pace and providing light physical support when needed.

Requirements:
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification required.
- Swimming Skills: Must be a confident swimmer as swimming is a key activity.
- Temperament: Naturally patient, calm under pressure, and genuinely enthusiastic.
- Physical Fitness: High stamina and energy to keep up with a strong, active teenager.
- Reliability: A serious, long-term commitment to ensure stability for our family.
- Logistics: Valid driver’s license and your own reliable vehicle.
- Clearance: A recent Police Record Check (Vulnerable Sector Check) is mandatory.
- Asset: Previous experience working with autism or sensory processing needs is a significant asset.

What We Offer:

- Paid Training: 1–2 days of paid shadow training to ensure you feel confident and comfortable in the role.
