Currently, our Operations Team is seeking Production Supervisor at our Pembroke, Ontario office.
Summary:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the efficient production, inspection, consolidation, and packaging of product through production areas assigned. The incumbent works with all levels of Plant support to ensure flow of work is efficient and works towards on time delivery and continuous improvement targets and safety initiatives.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Assists Employees with various issues ensuring proper Work Order labor reporting
• Monitors labor posting process, examines jobs for proper postings, ensures associates are clocked in for the entirety of their shifts
• Assist Manufacturing Engineering and the Warehouse to investigate / report material and labor variances.
• Analyzing Quality results from in process and final inspections. Working with Manufacturing Engineering, Production and Quality performing the MRB process
• The go between in process inspection, final inspection and production associates
• Works closely with Material Handlers to ensure work cells have materials and jobs available as per the production schedules
• Assists with internal Audits on Production Related Documentation to ensure ISO requirements are being met
• Escorts both internal and external Auditors during audits as Production representative
• Co-ordinates work cell teams and works with other Leads for updates and tracking progress to production schedule.
• Assists Production Manager and Manufacturing Engineering in the actioning of CAPAs stemming from internal and external audits
• Working with the Documentation Controller, provides input and reviews product documentation drafts before release to production. Assists with refresher training and updates for Engineering changes with production associates
• Ensure staff is properly trained to perform the work assigned as well as cross trained in the various manufacturing operations to provide manufacturing flexibility and record and track via the Manufacturing Training Matrix
• Foster a healthy and safe work environment. Co-ordinates toolbox training and submits training records to HR and Plant Management as required
• Coach staff to excel in their performance, instilling a sense of urgency and ensuring positive and professional behavior of all employees.
• Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures.
• Report out on department’s daily performance to Production and Production Manager
• Participates in meetings and all staff daily huddles as required
• Leads problem solving, root cause analysis activities and ensures adherence to the Cadre Operating model on continuous improvement initiatives
• Support for other projects and initiatives as required
Qualifications:
• 3-5 years Supervisory/Lead Hand experience in a Manufacturing environment.
• Background in soft goods considered an asset
• Implementation of Lean Manufacturing concepts
• Previous experience working in an ISO certified manufacturing environment
• Grade 12 or equivalent
