The Resource Assistant is responsible for supporting children within the licensed child care setting. The position is carried out in accordance with the legislative and regulatory requirements of the Ontario Child Care and Early Years Act.

The Resource Assistant performs the responsibilities of the position in a manner consistent with the policies and procedures of the County of Renfrew Child Care Services and Pineridge Children's Centre.
Responsibilities include:
• Supporting children with diverse needs within the licensed child care environment.
• Communicating in a sensitive, courteous, and professional manner with children, families, staff, and community partners.
• Documenting observations, collecting data, completing assessments, and supporting program staff with the collection of information as required.
• Demonstrating sensitivity to the individual needs of exceptional children.
• Maintaining positive working relationships with families and providing support as required.
• Maintaining strict confidentiality at all times.
• Participating in team meetings and Family-Centred Planning meetings.

Hours of Work
This position is a split shift, working 3.75 hours per day during the school year to support the Before and After School Program. The Resource Assistant is required to work full-day shifts during PA Days, March Break, Christmas Break, summer holidays, and any other full-day child care programs operated by Pineridge Children's Centre, based on program needs.
