Job Description

Bilingual Transitional Support Caseworker
The Mission of Bernadette McCann House (BMH) is to work for change that will end abuse, by providing safety, support and education to all those who experience abuse. Our services include an emergency residential program for women and children, community outreach, court support, services for children and youth, groups and workshops.
We are currently recruiting a Francophone Transitional Support Caseworker. This is a permanent 30 hour per week position, employed by Bernadette McCann House. Funding for this position has generously been made available through a formal agreement with the Eastern Ottawa Resource Centre.
Reporting to the Outreach Supervisor, this position provides supports and services to women and their dependents who have experienced abuse, including survivors of human trafficking, that will enable them to access safe and stable housing, as well as relevant supports such as court support.
Qualifications:
Graduate of a post-secondary program in social sciences or related field
A thorough understanding of the issue of violence against women and impact of children who witness violence
Experience in crisis intervention, proven ability to work effectively, both independently and as a team member
Extensive knowledge of the needs of Francophone women living in Renfrew County, who have experienced abuse, including human trafficking
Ability to speak and write in French and English
A valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
