Job Description

Under the supervision of the Public Works Supervisor the Skilled Operator will be responsible for operating winter maintenance equipment to ensure safe and accessible roadways (including shoveling) during snow and ice events. Also responsible for maintenance, repairs, cleaning and general upkeep of Town infrastructure.
Under the supervision of the Manager of Environmental Services, the Landfill Operator II has an important role in working with customers, spotting trucks, directing users, and handling, sorting, managing, compacting and covering materials received at the landfill using equipment that is provided. This is a full-time permanent position, 40 hours per week, working as a Skilled Operator from November to April and transitioning to a Landfill Operator II from May through October each year.
