Job Description

The Outreach Supervisor will oversee the outreach team who are serving individuals and families in communities across Renfrew County. This role also elevates the understanding of gender-based violence by promoting the provision of rights, education, prevention and awareness information, encouraging those to access services as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
Leading the outreach team that provides frontline services to women and children who have witnessed or experienced violence
Overseeing and contributing to client case management
Advising and supervising staff and reporting to the Executive Director
Managing and expanding community support programs that deliver education
Building awareness of supports available through Bernadette McCann House and other agencies that can support clients
Strengthening the relationship of clients to the Bernadette McCann House and the resources available
Ensuring administrative tasks and reporting requirements are completed efficiently and deadlines are met
Contributes to the strategic aims of the organization and assisting with funding opportunities
Participating in staff onboarding and supporting a safe and healthy workplace
Qualifications:
Graduate of a post-secondary program in social sciences, human services, women’s issues or a related field
Three years of experience in a leadership role, managing staff and working within a management team, preferably in a social services environment

A thorough understanding and knowledge of the issues of gender-based violence including shelter services, counselling, transitional and housing supports and children’s programs
Excellent case management skills and knowledge of experience with program development
Refined interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Well-developed database systems application skills
Proven ability to work cooperatively and effectively both as a team member and independently
The ability to speak and write in both English is essential
The ability to speak and write in French is an asset
Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle as this role may involve travel throughout Renfrew County on occasion.
