Job Details
Description
The Legion is looking for a person to be able to set up any of the halls or rooms within the Legion building as needed to suit the event. This will require tables to be removed from their storage location, then setup and chairs to be placed around the table prior to the event. After the event the hall or room may need to be reorganized or all of the tables put back into the storage area. This position will require working with the cleaning staff and the branch office administrator, and the Ladies Auxiliary for organizing and planning. Pre-planned sketches of the room setup will be provided. This position’s primary focus is to be responsible for setting up the tables and chairs where required for the event. Minor cleaning of the room could also be part of the task when needed. The hours required for this position will vary according to the different events and rentals of the hall. Early morning or late-night work could be involved.

As the Event setup staff, you will experience
• The opportunity to learn and work with others to accomplish many tasks which will help our branch to provide an event that our patrons will enjoy
In a typical day, you will:
• Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviors at all times, in support Ontario’s Health and Safety Policies and Royal Canadian Legion Bylaws.
• Assist cleaning staff with minor tasks such as taking out garbage or recycling.
• Reporting any damaged tables, chairs or hazards to out Executive group as soon as possible.
Must-haves for this position:
• Your own transportation to and from the branch
• Ability to lift up to 20 - 40lbs
• Comfortable working in an area with other people
