Description:
Murphy Ford is a third-generation Ford dealership that has been a part of the Ottawa Valley community since 1966. The service department is an integral part of our dealership. We provide a wide range of quality care services to help keep our customers’ vehicles in great shape all year.

We are currently recruiting for a Parts & Service Advisor. This is a full-time position.

Essential Duties:

Schedules service appointments
Obtains customer and vehicle data and reviews vehicle history prior to customers’ arrival, when possible
Writes up customer's vehicle problems accurately and clearly on the repair order
Interviews and questions customers as needed to confirm the problem or refers to test technician, or if necessary, has the shop foreman drive with the customer
Advises customers on the care of their cars and the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with manufacturers' specifications
Provides a complete and accurate written cost estimate for labor and parts, provided by the technician
Obtains customer signatures on repair orders; provides the customer with a copy, including an estimate on customer pay repairs.
Contacts customers regarding any changes in the estimate or promised time, explains cost and time requirements in detail and gets proper authorization before any additional repairs are performed, and properly documents up-sell information on the hard copy and in the computer
Reviews repair orders to ensure that work is completed and additional work and authorization are noted
Explains completed work and all charges to customers
Maintains high customer satisfaction standards
Handles telephone inquiries regarding appointments and work in process
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Service Advisor or in a similar role is a definite asset
Comfortable working with computers
A great attitude and exceptional customer service skills
Someone who works well in a fast-paced environment
A valid driver's licence
Strong organizational skills
